New cosplay on the List
Hello everyone! I've decided to torment myself even more by adding one more cosplay to the 2012 Otakon Line up :) I'll be hopefully going into overdrive for my cosplay of Valentine from the Video Game skull girls! I picked her because she has a lot of basic components but isnt the simplest of the SkullGirls so she will be sightly more reconcilable. I'm hoping to get a group going for this one, fingers crossed!

Jirachi Hat
Hello everyone! So sorry for the long delay on this update, I've been working on school work for a while. ANYWAY onto the main event!
I've been working on how to go about mastering the look of Jirachi's head in this hat and found that what i've been doing has been working pretty well. I took a beanie (courtesy of my friend, David) and i put it on a foam wig head. I took duct tape and 3 foam cones and taped them in the necessary places as well as the back of the beanie so it would keep it's shape, but i left about a half inch up so i'd be able to sew into the beanie without having to fight with the duct tape.
Here is a shot of this process. Im still working on the hat as we speak, right now, im sewing on the shiny gold/yellow fabric to the parts of the beanie that are still showing. I'll only be sewing on the two side 'horns' in a attempt to hide the seams and to avoid some of the edges. (cus i like to look for short cuts when i can :3)
But that sums up this little update for noooooooow :) cya back here later!

Jirachi Cosplay Shoes How To
Hey guys! Here is a little how to on how i made my shoes for my Jirachi cosplay :)
First, you will need to go round up all your supplies:
First, you will need to go round up all your supplies:
1. Hot Glue Gun
2. Glue sticks for said gun
3. Gold and Teal paint
4. Pair of shoes [flats]
5. Construction paper [thick]
6. Paper plates
7. Paint brush(es)
8. Sheet(s) of foam paper
9. Star outline
I just went online and printed off 2
clear sizes of stars. Just to test
and pick what size i liked better.
Now the foam sheets that I personally used where:
Once you have all your materials, you are ready to start. Take the star outlines you have and cut them out and pick the size you like best. After doing that, trace it out on the construction paper and the foam sheets. For every one construction paper star, you will need 2 foam sheet starts. So there is a LOT of cutting @_@
I didn't get pictures for my next step, so you'll have to excuse me. Cut out all the stars you need with the 1 construction paper to 2 foam sheet star ratio, and hot glue them together. So the 2 foam sheets should be making a sandwich out of the construction paper. Let dry, and you're ready to paint. Be sure to fill in the edges because the paint will also act as a glue to hold everything together. Be sure to fully paint both sides.
Now while that is drying, you can start editing your actual shoes to the colors you want. I had plain blue flats with a bow on them, so i cut that off, painted the fabric teal, and all the edging gold. Here is a comparison picture of one that is almost fully painted, just needs one more coat of teal [Shoe on the left] and the other one that still needs a side and edging done.
After you are happy with your paint job on your shoes and your stars, you are ready to fire up your hot glue gun again. Hot glue the now fully golden stars to the top of your shoes and enjoy all the wish makery goodness!
